CHI Debug — Deadlocks, Missing Snoops & Protocol Violations
Diagnosing CHI failures — deadlock analysis, missing or misrouted snoops, incorrect state transitions and credit problems.
CHI failures are usually system-level and rarely local: a deadlock is a cycle across several agents, and a missing snoop is a correctness bug whose symptom appears at a completely different agent much later. That makes evidence collection the main skill — reconstructing the sequence of transactions on a line, across nodes, before forming any hypothesis about which node is wrong.
